I’m planning on walking up to Crinkle Crags and overnighting up there. This will be my first overnight on a fell but not my first night outdoors so I’m not worried.
Thought about taking a tent but have decided on using a basha and bivi bag instead. This might be foolish but only time will tell. The basha and bivi bag is lighter quite a bit lighter then the tent and I will be using walking poles anyway which I can use to set up the basha.
My kit list is as follows:
Sleeping and shelter
- Basha – This also called a tarp but as I’m using an ex army one may as well call it what they do.
- Bivi bag
- 4 season down sleeping bag
- Self inflating mat
Cooking, water and food
- Jetboil Flash stove
- Source 3l Wide pac.
- Drinksafe Systems 3-1 Aquaguard which is used inline with the hydration pack
- 24hr MOD ration pack – This should do as only going to be out for 24 hours.
- Lowe Alpine Sting rucksack
- Walking poles
- Map + compass
- Mobile phone – Taking as camera rather than as a phone.
- Waterproof coat and trousers.
- Warm hat + gloves
- Spare socks.
- Headtorch
- First Aid Kit
Clothes
- Altberg boots
- Walking socks
- Craghopper trousers
- Base layer
- Fleece jumper
Think this about it, need to lay it all out and confirm.
