Gummers Howe has always had a special place in my heart as it was the first Wainwright my girls did many years ago.
XYL, radio dog and myself parked up Gummers Howe car park and packed very lite as it’s only half a mile to the top.
We set of in drizzle which turned in to rain and by the time we reached the top it was just wet as we were in the clouds.
This was the first time XLY had been up Gummers Howe and was a little disappointed as I had explained how good the views were. Currently could see about 20 meters due to the low clouds.
I took out the anytone 878 and started calling CQ, soon M7DYP came back to me, quickly followed by G6AEK who i worked the day before from Stoney Cove Pike. 3 more contacts and I was done.
Quick walk back to the car and the off to Fell Foot Park for a bit to eat.
